OK Trappy, those shelves have got to be clear; I personally helped with a bunch of old disco parts. Please tell us more about the new caipi!

This post has been shamelessly stolen from the 2018 thread and translated below. Content provided by depakinem

    Cut n paste below:

The new flying wing TBS Caipirinha II, the first images

Excluded total, international universal: here are pictures that sent me the developer of the new Caipirinhah , the famous flying wing FPV TBS of 850 mm of wingspan with its site dedicated to the Gopro . This planetary scoop is at the base of four small photos, one of which is already published (peel mixes in the ton of diverse and varied images found on the FB page of the dev). But these photos were not taken at random, we discover a few things:
1: there will be an antenna to send the video!

And not just any antenna: a Triumph TBS . Note, however, that it will be integrated into the body of the wing. Well, it was already the case on the first Caipirinha . It seems that the antenna is in short version. In this regard, I imagine that we will always find a location for the Gopro ... but for which? The Session ? The Gopro 5 ?
2: more mysterious, there will be several XT60 connectors

Why three connectors? So here I dry. I am not a specialist in flying wings but if it is not for connecting several lipos in series or in parallel, I do not see what these XT can serve. Moreover, if it were for this purpose there would be only two.
The other explanation is that at TBS we like to feed separately the FPV and the engine to preserve the image in case of crash. This is not specific to this brand, it is rather a remnant of the time when the components did not integrate BEC. It was therefore necessary to feed everything separately. Anyway, it is a guarantee of security and it also allows to feed a GPS tracker or any search system.
In an article on Crossfire written a long time ago, I noticed that we found on this long-range module a localization system with a range of one day. So I asked the developer, this is what he said:
    I have no idea…
Well then ! Let's look at the last picture. Bunny Ears (Bunny Ears) winglets, identical to those of the first wing, are shown:

    That's all ?

Yes. I cried, I screamed, I threatened. Nothing worked, the developer does not mean anything and Trappy is silent. So we will wait ... But we are happy to have had these images quite new despite everything. It's not the scoop of the century but it's always fun! One last tip : Caipirinha , it's always so complicated to write! It is a Brazilian cocktail with lime, cachaša and sugar. At least we will have learned that!

So my thoughts? More bloody balsawood!

Yeah I know it is easy and relatively cheap to produce, but FFS it is rubbish when you suck at maidens like I do. I even had a kinda hardish landing on my RMRS recruit that broke the bottom board. Please Trappy, 3d Print parts in ABS. Then you can supply replacement STL for people so they don't have to get international shipping on a $5 part. You remember the Capi 1? My free replacement 3D printed parts for it grossed in at 360 downloads for gopro mount and motor mount alone.

Things I noted that look good, are the inclusion of square VF tubing for reinforcement. The Capi 1 was notorious for having a weak spot just near the servo mounts as it was the common break point. Second thing, it looks like decent rods are being used on the elevons and not just bendy wire. As a user I am glad to see I wont have to upgrade this.

Other than that, ill be on the preorder for the V1.

Well, The order is up for the Capi.

I will be doing a build similar to the recent recruit build, except I will document it better and include TBS Crossfire Telemetry connection.

Did I mention I would be using PixFalcon?

    Stay tuned...

Seriously... What's under the hatch? Not sure why those pics don't exist. Guess we'll have to wait for one of us to get one...
