    Thanks bro:-)

I was going to use vacuum after laying down glass for the two halves. For this I thought I had ordered peel ply and a vacuum pump. Without going into the details of why, I had not ordered them. Just ordered both from China today, but they will arrive by the end of the month at the earliest. I cant wait that long, so I will make the first plane as a wet in wet hand layup without vacuum. The biggest difference will be that I cant use balsa without vacuum pulling it down. I will use extra spars instead.

Sure:-) I will lay up the vertical stabs next, and make a video of it. If it works out on my first attempt I will post the video.

Today is an exiting day. I am in the process of laying up the vertical stabs. Since it will be 2-3 days until I can crack open the mold I will only post still pictures today. The video will be posted after a few more days.

The mold halves have had wax, pva and a coat of 2K sanding primer. The sanding primer will be the skin of the part.

Next I shaped the balsa ribs. No fancy measuring is required. Just your normal eyeballing and a sharp blade.

3 layers of 160g glass cloth, and spars in place:

Now I will let it harden for at least 48 hours, before cracking the molds:

Thanks:-) I am heating the molds quite a bit, so I can split them tomorrow evening. I am not very confident about the results. I am worried the fibreglass may have lifted in a couple of places from when I was trimming the edges. Anyways... Worst case, I just have to do it again. If there are only minor imperfections I wont even bother.

Somehow I thought you will be using vacuum and do two halves separately. This way saves more weight- do one half with vacuum, glue spars later and cut/sand flush to the mold. Do another the same and later glue two halves together.
I'm preparing for such molding myself for spring (for my V4 speed record miniquad)- got vacuum pump already http://www.ebay.com/itm/360644211571...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT, some carbon/cevlar cloth, and here's a little suggestion for better epoxy curing- electric heating blanket that is on my way as well http://www.ebay.com/itm/Multifunctio...sAAOSw-0xYcLf-
If you're a noob, copy 1:1 what somebody already flies without too much questions, you'll find the answers later.
PatrikE: I don't see anything wrong in your dump...
    Derrick:
you are flying it LOS... You are doing it wrong.
