Get me a Crocodile sandwich. And make it snappy.
Is this really low? I thought it was good to go 100m/km. Can you be this low because of your terrain?
What does that mean Hucker? Don't try this at home...but 100ft/mile works fine for me.Might not be good, because there's no chance I could glide home from that altitude, but signal strength is fine for me. Also, it helps to have a big open area with no trees in the way of your LOS. If I go higher than that, it's because I'm pushing and want to enjoy a relaxing glide back.
I've just moved to a more capable system (when I'm not loosing planes) and in my reading people have been saying 500ft/mile or a 10% climb. (yes I've seen tons of people right off the deck at 1 mile, but I assume they have a 5-10 mile link and they are pushing it). I tend to try to keep a bit above that, say 700ft/mile.
Thanks to AirtruksRus for taking the pic....the ONLY evidence of an epic flight.

Danub - what plane did you use on your 10mile record attempt ?
Made it to five miles last night, had issues but got there. Will work on the system to clean things up a bit more so as to push further.
