Why is there no listing for GPS antennas for the Trace 1

    Skylark,
First thanks for the quick replacement of my GPS wire harness worked like a champ.
New issue... I was flying the other day and lost RC control and my plane fell 350 feet to its death. All the electronics survived except for the GPS antenna which is MIA. After 30 minutes of searching and 6 ticks on my legs I had to give up.

I cannot find the replacement antenna on your site. Can I still order one?

    Marc
Yeah I broke it. But I have Duck tape so its ok.

BTW - I don't think they come to this forum very often.

No they do. It just takes a couple days sometimes. They got back to me on several occasions with in 48 hours and the issues were resolved in 72 so I am in no big hurry I know they are in China and have a lot of customers other than me. My plane is still in VA in a tree right now anyway waiting on Alex to fish it out.

Did you have the 10hz or 4 hz? And how did both of you go down on the same day?

I think it was the 10hz that was the one they were shipping standard at the time. But to be honest I wouldn't know what the difference was and if they act differently when installed.

Well we found a new development that he wanted to try. We left the RFexplorer at the house(oops) and just tossed them up. He went about a half mile away with no OSD and got confused by the road layout (very winding and odd) so he asked me to fly in his direction and lead him back. I did of course what kind of wing man would I have been if I didn't? On my way to him he got hit with high noise floor on 72mhz (didn't realize that was why until I got in the area he was flying) and went down in a guys yard. I was flying with the trace so it was obvious to both of us to go into search mode and get a location. Well I noticed my RSSI going crazy and attempted to turn around and didn't make it. I went into the trees 5 houses down from where he went in.

Plane survived, mostly but we were unable to find the gps antenna in the leaves. The ticks ran us off. lol

Stop playing with 72mHz Marc. Just think about what you just posted... SUBDIVISION (houses) and 72mHz. A neighborhood/subdivision has houses/cars - has people. I don't want anyone flying 72mHz over my neighborhood when that plane shares space with a vTx. Besides, one can easily spend more $$ in plane/parts replacement in a crash than the actual cost of a LRS. I'm glad that you guys brought them back home.

I hear what you are saying J'son. If I had the extra $$ I would likely jump on an LRS but right now it is not doable. I have honestly never had this happen before and have done 1.5miles on it but this area didn't allow it and we both paid for it. To be fair the spot we planned to fly was still under construction, we just ventured out over the adjacent neighborhood. The people whose tree it wound up in thought it was hilarious though. They were very good sports about it. Would probably been a different story if something got damaged though.

I have a Trace and a Trace II and as far as I can tell both of them use the same GPS rx.
