BTW, on the 24" specter, I tried a bigger servo for the ailerons and while it sort of worked, I could tell it was struggling, so I put a small servo on each wing. I had some little hobbyking brand 2.5g plastic gear servos from a project I never did, soldered them together on a long lead and relocated the control horns. I hope the servos are strong enough, they are tiny.

    Tiny FPV

I'm super anxious to see some video of your mini-Specter. I like the idea of having something tiny and unobtrusive in my arsenal. I played around with a multiplex fox, but could ever get good control, it was so squirrelly.
Are you planning on keeping the video system simple for close in park flying, or shoving an autopilot, antenna tracker, etc?

I'm gonna keep it simple, just a camera and transmitter, no OSD at all. I might have a low voltage alarm on the battery, but that's it. Haven't decided what transmitter to use yet.

Mini specter got some bamboo reinforcements on the tail after I broke a vstab once, and then my bro broke it again, decided it could use some beefing up. Has the added benefit of giving the leading edges a nice round shape.

Volto, what motor/battery were you running on your EPS Specter in Hartsel? I'm thinking I need to build one of these, yours had great performance and really good flight times too.

Wondering if a motor from my cargo plane has enough oomph to power it...

Yeah that plane was bad ass. 5000+ft AGL with 2600mah, hard to beat that.

I'm using an rc timer 1500kv 350W motor with a 8x6 prop, cut down and balanced from 9x6, battery is a BYD 2600mah 25c from hobbypartz. 40A Proton ESC.

I don't think that motor will provide enough power, looks like about half the watts.

Could someone who thinks he/she has a clean build please post a good picture or two of their fuse and hatch cutouts and equipment placement. I'm pulling my hair out trying to make it so that I'm not going through a roll of tape every flight. And if I make subsequent builds of my fuse bigger, should I go wide or tall. I'm thinking wide......
