Thread: Regulators

    How about just a simple RECOM DC/DC. Very small, cheap. I attach the in/out and ground and shrink wrap it. Couple of different ones available based on input voltage. www.digikey.com http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...038-ND/2256218

    Sander, what would you use to step down from 4S to 12v?

    A 12V linear regulator, as that can't add noise by design.

    Personally - I use this one... seems to work well for powering both my 5v Lawmate and my 12v camera.

    EDIT - NOT GOOD FOR 4S regulation to the camera unless your camera is 5v... otherwise it's simply a pass through.

    @GregSilver

    Type uA7812 into Ebay and hit search: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...All-Categories

    If you want a low voltage dropout, use a uA78m12: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=....c0.m270.l1313

    The latter (uA78m12) is more preferable as it has the least voltage drop as the 4S pack nears 12V.

    If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.
