Interesting about Contour. No idea they started so small.

I wish they'd get in touch with hobbyists. It seems everyone has a GoPro mount for quads or planes, but no mention ever of the Contour. They need to reach out a bit, grassroots like.

Yes - I have a Contour. It is nice and tough and I like it, but I need to be clever to rig it into a space designed for a GoPro mount too often.

I have a Contour and intend to do my first ever HD flight video with it. You won't catch me with a GoPro.

If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

the gopro is not as good on colours as the contour - but i think the gopro2 has fixed that.

the other factors are wider field of view, i prefer the gopro. the contour looks cramped to me. and lastly the footage is just smoother on the gopro. shoot at the same frame rate and the gopro just comes out on top with smoothness of footage.

but yes the gopro form factor is stupid ugly and annoying. contour looks like a proper cam should

I love my contour GPS but due to the lack of suitable Quad mounts looks like I will need to buy a GoPro just for the Quad

there are several comparison including the contour and the GP and the contour always loses, specially for the wobbling :P

i 'had' a couple of contours, bought to film from my (push)bike while out on training rides, but although they shot quality footage, the mount system was left wanting. every mount had play between it and the contour, so unless it was mounted to the side of my head (the neck being the best gimbal to use), the footage was a blurr of vibration.

switched to gopro and although as a product, it fell out the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down, it performs day and night better.

Microsoft and Apple both started in garages/basements. Not surprising Contour started small. I don't own a GP or a Contour, but I prefer the Contour's narrower fov. I don't like the massive amount of barrel distortion that the GP's have with their wider fov. It's good for down through the trees at speed, but not so great up high where you see the horizon bow up and down imo.
