Far better is it to dare mighty things, even though checkered by failure; than to take rank with those who neither enjoy much or suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.
"I Like Waffles" : FPVLAB on Facebook
How exactly did you start the conversation with police HQ about making a FPV plane with Toronto PD matching police logos?
Have any cops ever asked you about HAM licenses?
It started with a couple of cops that stopped by the club field. Actually, I think they were checking out a noise complaint about some of our bigger gas engine guys. Two minutes on the goggles and these guys are hooked. I told them about my idea and they told me who to talk to at HQ. There gift store didn't have what I was looking for, but they put me in touch with these other guys in charge of community relations. They have stickers and decals with the crest on them, so they offered me some of those.
No cop has ever asked me about a HAM license. Unless they are into amateur radio themselves, I doubt most of them would even know it's required. My only issue with them has been trying to get my goggles back. I only bring so many batteries, damn it!
Big brother is watching?
That is great!! For some reason, something as fun as FPV flying seems like it must be illegal![]()
Cool, Toronto police zephyr. Dude, you gotta get yourself hooked up with the film crew for "Rookie Blue". Maybe they'll put you in an episode and you'll get to meet the hottest female cops on TV. hehe

sweeet!
Today I got the lights installed and laminated the wing. electronics, elevons, motor/motor mount and winglets are next. Once all that is done, I'll place the batteries based on the CG.
Embedded flashing lights (hard to see with the studio light on)
