    EagleTree,

Yes, Overall I have been successful in getting the RTH to work. I did get the stabilisation to work at all times, and controlled the gain via a knob on my Tx. That helped me switch Off the stabilisation ( Gain:0 ) when needed.

There are 2 things I am still having problems with :

    1. Altitude reporting goes real wrong in some cases. See video above, where reported altitude goes to negative ! This could be a potential problem for RH, since the manual states that RTH will NOT be engaged below 60 meters. Now if Altitude reports less, even though the plane is still high up, RTH will not engage, and thus not work at all ?

    2. With the stabalisation ON, I seem to have the plane in a slight nose down attitutde, and thus loose altitude. Perhaps this may be because the Guardian may not be mounted horizontally for level flight ?

    3. I still need to check on the altitude Hold, while in RTH. I will be testing that, but would be important to know on the #1 first.

    Thanks

I have the same issue with the elevons on my swift going crazy! Also my RTH doesn't work correctly, in sim mode it's the Elevator that is controlling direction! I have done the calibration several times. The controls work fine on the plane itself as does the stabilisation.....any ideas?

gauravag, I'm assuming you're not using our baro altitude sensor, and the display is GPS altitude? If so, does your HDOP parameter vary much between when you take off, and when you're in the air? It seems constant while in the air, but not sure what it is on the ground. It's possible that RFI from the video transmitter is affecting the GPS, but your symptom is a bit unusual. Here's some info on GPS interference, FWIW. Altitude is indeed what GPS does worst.

Re the nose down issue, I think you need to reset level trim with the guardian, perhaps providing a little bit of nose-up during this step, if the problem continues.

    Hello,
I have a modded twin prop Radian Pro. Due to miss calculated design it is tail heavy. I have my elevators as elevators and ruder as ailerons. On the simulator everything seems to work fine, but in actual flight I hit the throttle cut to activate the RTH but the rudder just wags back and forth. I think that due to the radian pros wings it causes the plane to roll to heavenly and with it being tail heavy on the roll if throttle isn't compensated it stalls. Is there any advice that you can offer to help me with this problem??? Thank you for all the help

Hi, i got the same kind of probleme as gauravag shown in page 1 video. I was able to reduce the up and down movement of the servos by reducing the gain to near 0, but i dont feel confident trying the RTH. And one more thing, i carefully read all the RTH instruction and follow step by step. They recommend to use a Y cable to connect a servo to the throttle channel, and so you can watch how the RTH use the throttle by looking at the servo. Well until now, im unable to make the servo move. I try to connect the Y cable on the Rx with no succes, so i try on the OSD throttle in with no succes.... The RTH dosent use the throttle in the simulation.

My equipement: OSD pro, Elogger v4, and GPS.
and i use a cheap Rx (no failsafe) maby this is a part of the probleme.

For me 2 things made the difference :
    1. Using the Guardian stabilizer
    2. Turning the Stabilisation on ( on the OSD menu )

It seems you need to install the guardian - without it, i would never think of trusting the RTH !

Hi again, today i understand why the throttle wasn't moving in the simulation mode. In the instruction they say to connect the Y cable to the throttle output on the receiver, but it's not correct, it is rather in the OSD throttle out. And it appear to work fine.

I will test the RTH on a beautiful day with no wind and bring back the result in this thread.
    first test RTH direction
    second test RTH altitude
third test RTH both direction and altitude.

With guardian it's recommended that ailerons are used, not the rudder, and also in the servo analysis wizard, you need to do full ail & ele deflections, pre guardian it was turn deflections only.

My suggestion is, redo the servo analysis via the osd, not the computer interface, fly it Los, trim it, redo the servo analysis (trim change the way guardian & Rth work) then test the guardian in the air. If guardian works ok, the Rth shouldn't have an issue.

thanks for this info i will give it a try
