Reviving the Klingberg Wing from a long sleep.

Just an initial placement of all equipment coming out of the winged creation. Gave it new wing skins and spar on the right wing from damage in the past. Should be a much more stable platform and give a greater capacity for more lipos and longer flight times.

Originally built up in 1992 and flew it from Coyote hills regional park near Moffett Field in Ca. Took it out to Kauinui marsh on Oahu and flew it with the .049 power pod pusher attachment for a number of years afterwards.

Talking about plans? Was thinking about giving the new foam core cutter a workout and make a few more of these, just have to make templates.

Screwy thing is, anybody that has seen this ever fly before, it has no rudders at all, just a small amount of washout.
will have to get some new pics posted on the other computer, this ones not being cooperative.

I thought they stopped selling them a long time ago, find one on ebay or something? Definitely want to see if theres going to be an fpv meet up here, need to get some formation flying going.

It's a very fast building wing, getting all the video gear and motor setup should'nt give too many problems. Just need to find where the cg is located since i don't have the plans anymore.

I will pop the box open and have a look at the plans. I figured on using the kit as a template for a scratch build.

A real blast to fly, get it up high, roll it over and go terminal velocity and as it passes by makes the most wicked sound. Probably a real speed demon with the right power setup.

As long as you get the right amount of washout, should make it really mild on handling. It does do a slight wing wag without the rudders and an abrupt flip nose down when fully stalled. The only time it snap rolled was in some strong thermals, came right out of it.

Heres the latest, gear almost in and need to mount the servos. For the servo lead extensions i used a shielded 3 lead cable which fit the nyrod tubes originally used for the pushrods for the heavier servos. Micro servos do nicely to shorten it up.
Tried to open up the top hatch to allow for the airflow for the speed control. Just need to find a decent location for an inlet hole and a place to mount the micro color cam, resting on the leading edge for the moment. I do admit, for being such a small camera does give some fairly decent resolution as shown with the last couple of videos.

I decided to use the old .049 motor mount and dish it out on top to acommodate the motor for mounting.
