    Welcome EagleTree.

Welcome EagleTree to FPVLab. It was very nice to see you joining the forum and supporting your products.
I use your OSD v4 along with eagleEyes and so far been happy.
I havenet setup RTH or Antenna Tracking yet, but will be doing that in the next few weeks. Have heard a lot of users finding your products complicated to setup and sometimes giving up also . Again good to see you here .

Welcome! It is nice to see more of the big players here at fpvlabs.

    Thanks to both of you!

gauravag, that's good feedback for us. Our products do have a lot of features, and our goal is definitely to balance that with ease of setup for more basic functionality. But I'm sure we still have room for lots of improvement!

A couple of things we've recently is to add support for calibration of the EagleEyes tracker and the RTH setup wizard to our PC software, which people are finding much easier to do than with the stick menus. Also, with the Guardian expander, RTH tuning has been simplified considerably.

I'd love your feedback on areas we can improve with this, as a new user of our products. Also, if you know people who are still having problems setting up, if you could send them my way we'll certainly help.

Welcome Eagle Tree! Good to see you here.

I have a complete V4 system that I purchased about a year ago and a recently purchased Guardian stabilization system. This system was installed in my 3rd Skywalker. I now have a 4th skywalker, but not certain that I will install your system in it after trying one of your competitors units instead.

While your OSD does offer many, many impressive features, sometimes simpler is better. Perhaps I need to re-read all you manuals again, but I always struggled with trying to access and manipulate the on-screen set-up with the three-way toggle on my 2.4 Ghz JR9303. I found it easier to set-up using a laptop and USB interface which is a little cumbersome on the flight-line.

The only thing that has kept me from selling the system was the hints made some time ago about the "FPV Expander" which supposed to give a real-time feedback of RSSI for Spectrum & other digital systems. any idea when we can expect to see this unit hit the market?

Avenger, thanks also for that feedback.

I want to hear more about how we can simplify. Nothing's etched in stone with the OSD, since we can make pretty much any change with a firmware update.

Regarding the stick menu access, what would you like to see to improve that experience for you? The reason we have used a 3 position switch (or two 2-pos switches) rather than using the flight controls for menu operation is that I'm hesitant to lock out the model's control during flight access. The firmware to support that is mostly there, but disabled for this reason. However, it's certainly something we can enable as an option if that's what people are looking for. Let me know what you want to see.

Anything else you'd like to see improved?

Re the FPV expander, the centerpiece of the expander was to be thermal stabilization support. But, the cost and capabilities of inertial stabilization improved exponentially due to mobile phone and gaming demand, so we chose to go the better route and focus on the Guardian expander. I think we made the right call there. And, nearly all the remaining functionality of the FPV expander (extra voltage monitoring channels, analog RSSI) have been supported directly with the OSD. The big remaining piece is the spektrum RSSI support. It's something we'll do, but we haven't finalized the form it will take.

I suggest making a "lite" version of your system. Just a simple OSD with current sensor and GPS to use with the existing Eagle Eyes.

I don't like dealing with computers. All the software features turn me off.

I just think a less feature and software rich system would sell better and attract more people. Some of us like to keep things "simple".

i would like to see a kind of all in one unit. One unit which contains the guardian, osd, baro and parts of the elogger. then just a small current measuring board and a plug for the osd v4 and additional sensors like airspeed.

but a small easy unit with the actual software would also be very nice.

    @EAGLETREE,

Is that you Bill? Fancy seeing you here, shall we grab a few drinks later and talk about the good ol' times at RCG?

Johnny/luzaban, that's good feedback. We'll make it happen.

In terms of features, I think we can still have a full function OSD, that is very simple to set up for basic features. The features themselves in most cases don't require extra hardware, and I'm a big fan of being able to offer full featured equipment at the same cost as the "simple" products offered elsewhere. It's not very interesting to me otherwise.

There should be ZERO computer requirement for basic stuff (just plug it in), with more advanced features be accessible by both the stick menus and the software.

We're inching closer to that with the OSD Pro, but not there yet - it does require an initial PC setup to configure the text parameters. We've tried to make this pretty straightforward, as described here. We're thinking of ways to remove even this step, and still have full configurability.

This is exactly what we've done with the Guardian Standalone stabilizer - no computer required for typical users, but a lot of advanced features can be accessed/tuned with the software.
