I went 1 step further and drilled a tiny hole and poked my antenna straight up

I'm currently using a va1100 for all of my FPV needs and was looking to upgrade. I'm thinking of the following setup for my 200 qx:

    Parts

    7.4v 950mah 2s lipo with JST and JST-XH 2s leads : http://www.amazon.com/Lectron-Pro-7-.../dp/B00MJKUUP4
    JST-XH 2s Balance to JST-Male Battery Style Connector : http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...oducts_id=2140
Aomway mini 200mw vtx (Input Voltage: DC6-24v) It can receive a male JST plug for power : http://www.surveilzone.com/amoway-5....for-fpv-ws1194
DC5V~22V Plastic Case mini 600tvl Sony Super HAD CCD Super FPV Camera 2.8mm Lens (Input Voltage: DC5V~22V) It looks like I'll be able to connect this to my rtx using the included cable (never named)
    600tvl Sony URL: http://www.surveilzone.com/DC5V-plas...m-lens-for-fpv

    ...

I use the 7.4v 950mah battery specified above to power my quad. I was thinking connecting one end of the "JST-XH 2s Balance to JST-Male" cable to my battery balance lead and the other end to my vtx. Next, I was planning on using the cable that comes with the camera specified above to connect it to the vtx.

    Things I worry about:

The cable for the camera is never mentioned on any of the sites it is advertised on and the back of the camera is never shown. I'm hoping that one end will fit into the vtx and the other will fit into the camera.

The 7.4 volts should be ok to power both of these devices, right? 7.4 falls within the required range for both, but I've read about "brown outs" due to the copter drawing heavily on the battery when throttle is applied.

A filter. Do I need a filter? Since I'm a newb, I wanted to just use that Fatshark balance filter an earlier poster mentioned, but it seems like the connector (molex) will only work with immersionrc and fatshark vtx's.

I hope it's not bad that I've replied to a somewhat old thread. Thanks any advance for any advice that any of you can provide.

I had the same plan as you and carried it out only to be disappointed.
I figured the 200 qx flys so nice for a small quad that 200 mw would be fun only to discover that the range on the 200 qx is the same as the nano qx which is about 200meters open field and that's with my rx antenna on the outside pointing up. It would loose signal through obstacles low prox flying at 50 feet sometimes and I should add I use a dx9.

Bottom line is 200mw is overkill, you will never get to use even half its power, the va1100 will out distance your rc range easily.

Please note this is merely my experience with the 200qx.
I tried 2 of them with same results.
I'm just lucky a friend manages the local hobby store and understood I purchased this strictly for fpv and exchanged the 1st and refunded me the 2nd.

A real shame for such a great flyer with more than acceptable power

Good that I have found this thread! I have read about it on Dronepedia and they claim it is:
It is a little quad flies nicely in a little bit of wind and is very stable while SAFE is active, but is a bit of a handfull in EVO mode. The SAFE Technology system will bring the Nano QX back to a hover all by itself. Once you've mastered the basics, you can switch the SAFE system to agility mode for faster flying speeds and more maneuverability. Coming in at just $69.95 all I had to do was charge the battery and Bind and Fly!

Source is their review of Nano QX.
