    Signed.

Does it count as commercial if you operate based on "suggested donations?"

I have heard that it would count as commercial if the pic or vid was used in a commercial or professional way, regardless of whether or not any payment was received. On rcgroups there is a thread entitled-A warning from the LAPD to the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS
There is some info there that you might find useful. Thanks for signing and good luck!

I just noticed this thread and it looks like it was moved.. there is a thread in positive uses that is for more info on FAA and AMA Documents. I it would be best suited there or meybe even a completely new area in the forum for just related documents...

just fyi, by law the FAA cannot share the contents of the forthcoming NPRM until it is officially published and open for comments.

i don't live in USA but i did run the survey ...
here there are no special laws for FPV. it is yet to consider "not happening" .. and the laws are only for LOS models.
also we can fly almost where ever we want ..

but i agree this is to become a global issue soon.
the amount of drones in the air is increasing rapidly and it is a matter of time until something happens and draws global attention to us FPV guys.

on the practical side, don't forget to have an insurance for 3rd party injury. for your own ass ! case something goes very wrong .... i have one !

What if you charge for the editing of the video not the flight or the video itself?
Yeah I broke it. But I have Duck tape so its ok.

Absolutely. It takes no effort whatsoever to send an email. It isn't read, but simply counted. Writing a letter takes effort, and the politicians pay more attention to letters. One handwritten letter is worth ten thousand emails.

After getting hardly any signatures on the petition I finally closed it. I encourage everyone to pay attention to this matter and write letters to try to get a voice heard. There is no reason, aside from unions and politics, that we shouldnt be able to make money flying cameras on small, or even somewhat large r/c helicopters and planes. Cheers all!
