Ok I don't know if you have seen my most recent airplane, I plan on mounting the antenna on the wings but they will only be about 10inches away although that would be extender further away by roughly 3 inches through the way the antenna is connected to the Vtx.

I've got a question, what do you need to fly at night? I am so desperate to fly... at night.

Your antennas look good. I'd probably add some hot glue to the feedpoint to keep the wire from separating.

What doesn't look good is the connections. The solder could have heated up the connector considerably causing the element to drift which changes the impedance significantly. If you PM me your addree, I can send you some pre-crimped cables for you to use.

NIGHTFLYING - All you need is a good camera with a Low F number lens and a landing strip with some lights. A flashlight is often enough. You aren't going to see detail like you do in the day no matter how good your camera is. Flying at night requires street lights and such. You need a plane you know. launch the plane and climb steadily. Once up 200 feet or so, make a run for the lit areas. Then you can drop lower if you like. When it's time to land, lay your flashlight flat so it illuminates the ground in front of you. If it flashes, that's even better. Aim for your light and land. Alternatively you could launch from a lit parking lot (that's what I do).

Hi IBCrazy, thank you for your response on my questions and for the offer

I have just destroyed my cloverleaf on my last crash
I am interested in flying an inverted vee and a half wave dipole on the rx.

What performance should I expect on this? Flying towards rx, away, and banking...
I could build another cloverleaf but I am out of the copper wire.

What if I use nichrome wire?
Also I am really interested in the inverted vee... I'm not entirely sure but is this a half wave dipole with an angle? Or are the measurements slightly different?

How should the halfwave dipole be mounted on the rx? Vertical or horizontal (in relation to the ground) ?

^I wrecked my sports car and bent up the fender. I am really interested in a sub compact. That's more or less what I read in perspective

If you are going to use a Vee, you will want a directional antenna on the RX. Patch, Biquad, Yagi, ect. When it comes to omnis, CP rules.

    Something really strange happened today.

Was running a brand new LM 500mW 1.2 TX replacing my sea submerged unit.

Did the channel selection as normal and found out range was like.... 10 meters... LOL.

Got home for some troubleshooting. Quickly I find out that TX in channel 3 and RX in channel 4 ( both LM ) is working at peak performance. I got a new 20dB attenuator and ran a test around the house with perfect video. ( all masonry walls )

Isnīt that funny... I guess if the newer units have a different channel selection or I donīt know what...

Where are some good places to buy flight cameras and any particular budget ones that are tested and liked?
I ordered my first FPV cam through CameraSecurity2000, for 26 bucks it was alright but the iso was terrible and focusing could have been better... any suggestions?

Dig a bit deeper in your wallet, and buy the PZ0420 from SC2000 for $52. You won't be sorry.
