I have another question! If I coil up coax cable (the RCA video signal cable between goggles and receiver, is that even called coax?) and put a zip tie around it, will I suffer any weird problems? I have had weird things happen when I coil wire before, but those were unsheilded wires. I could shorten the cable, but that would be a lot of work. I don't want to accidentally short the coax..
    thanks!

    - Reflector: Fibre Glass Copper Clad PCB 233x220mm Single Sided
    - Copper wire 1.7mm thickness
    - Using two nylons bolts
    - RG58 coaxial cable
    - Center conductor is soldered very close to the mesh, without touching
    - Mesh soldered way down to the copper in the reflector (also soldered mesh between the bowtie and the reflector to stiffen it)

    Thanks!

^That looks mighty good. When you fly it, be prepared to be impressed. Contrary to popular belief, I still fly a BiQuad eventhough it is linear

If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

You can coil it up. It actually can be a good thing. It cuts common mode currents.

I am planning to build a 910mhz helical (huge!) and the reflector plate is supposed to be 12.9 inches wide. However I only have 12 inch wide sheet metal. How should I join 2 pieces to make the full 12.9 inches? I was thinking maybe soldering but that would be a lot of soldering or can I just skip the .9 and make it 12?
    thanks!

It will loose a little of gain, but it's negligable, you probably wont notice it.
How many engineers does it take to change a light bulb?
    3. One to hold the light bulb and two to turn the ladder.

    More questions sorry...
I saw your running the gauntlet video and i'm impresses by the durability of the specter. Took a reasonably hard hit without that much damage. Did your cloverleaf take any damage? if not, how did you mount it? I have damaged one but luckily it wasn't that bad- however it would be terrible it it shorted out so I don't want to take chances. Thanks

That cloverleaf got smashed at least 5 times and I had to bend it back. I mounted it on top of the plane like an idiot. I am using a nylon center fill for durability. They don't break very easily. The original units weren't nearly as durable.
