I was wondering how that would work. I found Kondor's idea intriguing as it sounds like it could be very compact. But my first thought was that null and if it could be compensated for. Hmmmm? I would like to see this one attempted it might be pretty cool.
Yeah I broke it. But I have Duck tape so its ok.

The null gets smaller and smaller as the pitch angle of the leafs decreases... gonna have to test with as low as 10-15° pitch angle, but this thread is about the crosshair...

Yes, please start a new thread. The antenna you are describing was one that I was researching (called the wheel antenna) when I started playing with the angles and the cloverleaf was born. And yes, I was NOT trying to invent a new antenna, it just happened

If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

Being as the crosshair is CP I'm good to mount it any way up right? Just checking as I have one from RMRC along with their Ez antenna tracker pan/tilt and it would fit best if the coax came out from the side.

^That's how it was designed to work

Thanks, for some reason I was thinking the 'bottom' is the side that the coax comes out of.

    To Ibcrazy

My friends find it so good the they convinced me into building one with their help :-)

I am running 910MHz and we will use the small reflector = 8.5db
I would like to know what will be the beam width ?
even better would be a radiaton plot. but I know it takes some times to do it.

    thanks

^Beamwidth is ~120 degrees to the 1db point. In other words the signal will be as strong or stronger than a SPW antenna within a 120 degree beam.
