??? There is no connector on the RG62 cable. Only on the feedline.

If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

wait... is the goof proof patch CP or LP ?
I would feel like a moron to have engraved all that LHCP crap on it, if it wasnt CP.
I am using RG58/u for the input feedline and RG62 as the phase shifting transformer.

The GP patch is LHCP. It was designed in 1953 by K5OE as a dish feed antenna.

So i can use my DirecTV dish that the leasing office told me to take down with my patch?! lol
Hi Alex
I really admire your work. You have given so much to the FPV world, and I like your honesty in your beliefs, wish I also share. I have just started out with RC, and have build myself a quad and are making plans for a hexacopter build for the summer. I have bought myself a full FPV setup, but is not at all satisfied with my range. I am using omnidirectional antenna on my quad, and have a hobbyking`s patch-antenna and a omnidirectional on the ground. I have watched most of your tutorials, and have decided to make 2 helical, one with 5 turns and one with 12 turns, but then I suddenly saw this tutorial, and was wondering if I should build this one instead. Maybe I will build all three of them. But I have a few question, maybe some of you can fill me up. Is it possible to use the RG58 50ohms cables? If not, where can I get the RG62 cables? And I am using a 2.4ghz FPV setup, and was wondering how thick wire should I use? Thanks for all answers.
