    Mega-thanks Johnny!

Actually, I was even considering using the camera with an r/c truck going very slow in a wide open, totally flat parking lot as a "first FPV experience"

As far as the quality of equipment - I have no idea if it's really any good or not but the dialog I had with they guy at TBS was phenomenal. He convinced me he knew what was a good setup so I bought what he recommended. He did discourage me from getting the EZUHF stuff to begin with indicating I could - and probably should - add this later however, I wanted to get everything at once.

Yes, I solder. During the last year I've soldered more than in the previous years combined. That doesn't mean I'm an expert but I am making great progress and have learned useful lessons in the process.

Thanks very much again - very, very helpful!

    Happy flyin',

    Brad

All equipment selected is great quality! Yes, listen to the TBS guys! They will steer you in the proper direction.

    Two questions
    1. If I build a twin, how important is it for the props to spin in opposite directions?
    2. If I build a pusher, can I just reverse the motor, reverse motor direction and keep the same tractor prop (where the prop always faces towards the front)?
    Thank you

    Thank you Vindfrisk

Here's another idea - I'm thinking stability & efficient flight - just guessing this might work with elevons.

    Happy flyin'

My goal is to create a fuselage/pod that is about 2 1/2 to 3 inches wide so I can install items, protect them and move stuff around to achieve balance.

    Maybe I'll even add landing gear . . . hmmm . . .

Getting ready to glue the pod pieces together - will be using polyurethane glue for this.

    The center section is hollow.

Someone on another forum commented this should probably have a tail to make it less pitch-sensitive so I think I'll redo the back end. It's still not too late to create a twin . . . hmmm . . .

For now, the ailerons are cut and installed (will replace hot-glue hinges for "real" hinges) and the pod is coming along.

I might install landing gear along with a steerable nose wheel - we'll see.

    Happy flyin' everyone

Maybe this would be better for controlling nose pitch . . .

I'm thinking of redoing everything, the wing and the fuselage.

If so, I'll go with a longer wing but there is a sweet spot with this construction - at some point a spar will be necessary and I don't want to get there.

Also, I'm wondering if adding dihedral will help stabilizing the flight.

The idea of a tractor twin is very appealing to me. I reckon I need to pick one direction and stay with it. The wing is "salvageable" but I'm not convinced it will be as good as reaching my goal as a new, better design. So far, all is not lost as I've learned a lot through this process.

Any suggestions will be welcome. And yes, I do occasionally ask myself "Why not just toss $50 to HobbyKing?" (ha)

In the photo below, this will not be the front wheel I'll actually be using on the airplane (ha)
