FPV in HD- Replay Cam & Goggles?

Hi FPV users, I'm very new to the hobby but have some experience with cameras and broadcast signals from working in the A/V industry. I would love to create an HD FPV plane and fly with goggles, but have not found a wireless transmitter for digital signals nor have I found any documentation regarding using the Replay XD camera as a FPV camera.

I've watched IBCrazy's very informative tutorial and have a good idea how to fly with standard definition video, but Urban Drones are advertising that HD camera like it's capable of FPV and I want to know how. Is HD FPV possible, and are there goggles like the fat shark that accept a different signal than analog composite video? Thanks and look forward to your responses.

Everyone operates on analog as far as I know. There was a post a few months ago where some guy achieved 720 HD feed with a custom made transmitter. It was OK but HD doesn't matter as long as you have a good camera like a pixim or similar. Most people do a FPV style camera as their live camera then record in HD with a GoPro or in your case a Replay to watch later.

    Cheers,

    NASCAR/Motorsports Cameras?

Has anyone researched what NASCAR or other motorsports broadcasters use for their live feeds from NASCAR bumper cams or cockpit cams? Those seem to be pretty high resolution and have good range. Any thoughts?

there is no problem with HD goggles - if you'r rich, you can give a try to hmz-t1, or 720 - wrap vuzix 1200 - in fully digital interface

more interesting is the way to deliver hd realtime signal from remote cam, barely can imagine for now

    HD Transmitters??

Thanks for the info on the Sony goggles, they are very expensive. The piece of equipment I'm having trouble finding is a wireless transmitter that will take in a digital signal. Does anyone make one that is proven good for FPV?

Sully Checkout the videos at freeflycinema.com. Tabb has a video of an HD feed from his helicopter. But....don't ask the price of the transmitter/RX combo. Last I knew when you attach to a standard broadcast camera you were in the $5K and up range. Maybe send them a note about what it cost them to get it down to a manageable payload?
