Sorry if this has already been addressed but would it effect the turnstiles performance if it was laid on the wing and then laminated over such as a zepher build?

Nope, i have one installed into my Zii wing with filler and laminate over the top, range test checked out perfect with no sign of reduction.

    go for it.

Is it possible to use one of these to improve a spectrum 2.4GHz system? Just wondering. I've made one for the UHF and looking forward to giving it a go.
A big thank you to IBCrazy. Don't know how you find the time but we duo appreciate it

Post 161 has the dimensions for the 2.4GHz version. I never tried it. Perhaps you could see how it works for us?

    turnstile

    Hello Alex,

I built the turnstile last night. I have not tried it yet but I wanted to ask first. I will be placing the antenna on the back of my skywalker on the top of the boom just behing the prop and close to my gps receiver. It will be connected to my Rangelink uhf.

For the radio tx antenna it is vertical now, when you say horizontal could I just mount the uhf radio to the back of my radio and have it pointing staight out away from me? Or does it have to be pointing out towards the side meaning my left and right side? Would it be possible for you to post a picture of how it would look on my radio. I am flying with a JR8103 and Rangelink uhf.

    Thanks for your help,

    Alex

You can see my radio setup on my 6km flight on my Youtube channel...awenzl

^ You want your TX antenna pointed to the side. That way you aren't flying off the null of your TX antenna

Other than that, you will do fine.

Anyone tried putting a turnstile on the bottom of a quad? Sounds like a great match to me.

    Cool

If your using on a quad either space the wire legs from the alloy arms or orientate turnstile in spaces between legs in antenna tube.

Ok. I am going to try the 2.4Ghz numbers for a spectrum (orange) rx and was going to use a satellite extension. Does anyone know what the three wires are. I was hoping for two wire.
    Any input appreciated.
I'm at work for a week and will attack when I return home

Do all four legs need to be at perfect right angles to eachother and how important is it that they are flat on the same plane?

IBCrazys pictures show the legs wrapping around the rounded fuselageof his flying wing, not on a flat plane. Also does the orientation matter-what direction is forward on the antenna?

As long as it is somewhat close, it is ok. Perfection is optional.
