Final numbers on the 2.4GHz turnstile are as follows:

    4NEC-2 simulation:
    Wire diameter: .6mm/.025"
    Short tips: 23mm
    Long tips: 28mm

Actual test data from my analyzer:
    Wire diameter: .6mm/.025"
    Short tips: 24mm
    Long tips: 29.2mm

4NEC-2 file (if anyone wants this)

    -------------------------------------------------
    GW 1 3 -2.e-3 -2.e-3 0 2.e-3 2.e-3 0 6.e-4
    GW 2 9 2.e-3 2.e-3 0 2.e-3 0.028 0 6.e-4
    GW 3 9 2.e-3 2.e-3 0 0.023 2.e-3 0 6.e-4
    GW 4 9 -2.e-3 -2.e-3 0 -2.e-3 -0.028 0 6.e-4
    GW 5 9 -2.e-3 -2.e-3 0 -0.023 -2.e-3 0 6.e-4
    GE 0
    EK
    EX 0 1 2 0 1 0
    GN -1
    FR 0 1 0 0 2400 0
    -------------------------------------------------

I would use the numbers from my analyzer. Building per the 4NEC-2 simulation came to an SWR of ~2.2 and a center frequency of 2520MHz. Draw the cross like I have in the video tutorial with the ends at the above labeled values.

EDIT: I can't find my camera card reader right now or I would post the photos.

If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

    Hello Alex.

Firstly, I would like to thank you for giving us another great tutorial for a great antenna!

My question is if it is ok to use bare copper wire (without insulation) to build this antenna, or would this degrade its performance?

    Best regards,
    Stavros

You could use bare copper, no problem. Even insulated (with enamel) is ok.

How about a turnstile for 910MHz, what size wire & lengths would I use. I would like to try this out to get rid of a NDB interference I have.
    Thanks Marc

    Hello IBcrazy,
I have a question about this antenna and diversity receivers.
In your website, the following is stated:

Lay this antenna flat underneath your wing and turn your TX antenna to the side for long range attempts. Turn the antenna upright and the TX antenna upright for flying behind objects and hills.
Does it make sense then to use 2 turnstile for maximum coverage? 1 mounted horizontaly and the other vertically?

    Thanks!

I would use a turnstile and a dipole on a diversity. 2 turnstiles is excessive.
