Got one embedded into my ZII's right wing, it just fits lol. Covered over with light weight filler for a smooth finish.
You guys jelly?.

hav u flown w it?how does it perform??
seeing the world through a security camera
Not flown but have range tested, it seems to perform as it should.
I'll keep you posted.

Hi Alex, another great antenna design
I have a little question.... Will performance decrease if I add another (male/female) sma connectors between Antena and rx ?
Hereīs an ilustration for better explanation:
Iīll use this antenna on my easyGlider wing and I donīt want to put and remove direct from my DL rx every time. So if I break some SMA conector due to too much use, I just need to solder some new ones
Is my logic OK?
Thanks.
Just built one and taped it to the scout bee will report back tonight after some range testing.
You need it for control or video? It would be no good for video.
Here's a quick calculation. I will have to run the simluation and the analyzer to verify it is perfect, but this will be plenty close:
433/2450 = .177
5.85*.177 = 1.02" (26mm) - Short leg distance from center
6.75*.177 = 1.19" (30mm) - Long leg distance from center
Wire gauge = 30-36 AWG (.020 - .030" Welding wire would work)
This will work plenty well. It isn't fully optimized, but 98% efficient or better, which is plenty close. Remember: All dimensions are taken from the very center of the antenna. They must all be done from the same spot. I will see if I can run a full simulation after dinner. I need to jump on the motorcycle to get some gardening tools and return a movie and then dinner. if I have time, I'll get the propagation plots.

If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

That will work fine. It's actually a really good idea. Loss with SMA is very low so the reduction is negligible.
I also found a better way to build this antenna... Ok somebody showed me an easier and sturdier way to build it. I will post a picture of a 2.4GHz built via the new style when I get the chance. Working on 5.8GHz helicals right now and I'm getting great results.
