How much Snugru is required for this? I see it comes in 8 x 5g packages.

Yes, Sugru comes in little packs. They have a colored variety pack and a kit that only includes black and white sugru -- which is more expensive (??). I got the "black and white" kit which are my kind of colors and needed maybe 4 of the little packs. I used black sugru for the inside and some white sugru to cover the loose cables of the AV cable that goes to the base -- the shielding of that cable is missing for maybe 3-4 inches, so I used sugru to make new shielding starting at the connector and going until I reached the black shielding of the cable.

Cheers Tim got the kit yesterday along with my tricopter and other bits

Just want to say your packaging and service is excellent, definitely above and beyond what you might expect buying small run kits like this. Cheers

Anyone doing this with the older Cinemizers you will need a very small cross head screwdriver and optionally either a T8/T9 Torx/Star head driver... Or you can get away with a small flat head which worked for me

First you need to take off the front cover. Take out the two screws underneath each arm/corner. This frees it up so with a bit of prying/force it should come off. Now you can just slide the pivot pins out of the arms being sure to disconnect the two cables first.

Now the right arm has the cable built in and needs to be opened up. I wanted to keep the headphone for later so I opened up the panel with the T8/T9 screw and removed that first. Then I used my dremel to make a cut along the top of the arm that encloses the cable, then with some pliers I got it out safe.

Sorry if this has been covered but I couldn't find it and I thought it might help whoever is doing this with older gen goggles.

I've never worked with Sugru. I've found the Variety packs every where http://www.amazon.com/Sugru-Air-curi.../ref=de_a_smtd. And only black as you mentioned, http://www.amazon.com/Sugru-Air-curi...5711339&sr=8-9

Have not found the Black and White kit yet. Is Sparkfun the brand name you sugest?

Da! I just needed to type/search in "black and white Sugru". Came up with this.... http://www.adafruit.com/products/437

Hey, thank you!! Glad you got it all in one piece.

Thanks also for your helpful info on doing this with the original Cinemizers -- which I've never held in my hands let alone tried this mod with. If you feel like it, maybe you can take a few pictures and post them here when you're doing your mod and also of the finished "product". Let us know if your Cinemizers fit well into the Delrin lenses. For the OLED Cinemizers the Delrin only needs minor adjustments with a bit of sand paper. And -- no, this has not been covered anywhere else, so you're the first to do so!!

I bought my pack directly from sugru.com -- but it does not matter where you get your sugru or what colors you're using... The important thing with Sugru is that you must let it cure for at least 30 hours (they say it can cure in less time, but I found that 30 hours is safer).

Anyone that has finished their mod yet?? Please post pictures for us! I sent out at least 30 of these mod kits at this point, but have not heard from anyone that completed it successfully (or unsuccessfully) and have yet to see any pictures.

Tim, I'll be posting photos as soon as mine's completed.
