    DeltaMan Has Arrived

    My greetings to everyone.

My first name is Apostolos and my last name is Gadetsakis. I am 34 years old and I live at central Greece and work in the Greek Air Force as a telecommunications engineer. Fifteen years ago I realised how much I like building and flying model planes. My hobby is like a second life for me, and sometimes I make a euro or two from my creations. I am very lucky as my primary job gives me plenty of free time to work on my passion over and over again. I rarely look at ARF's, mostly I'm making my own planes. Sometimes I find myself working for 8 or 10 hours a day without complaining! I have two daughters 4,5 and 1,5 years old, and a lovely wife.
I could say that I'm an experienced modeller but my FPV knowledge is... well, you get the picture. I've flown for about a minute up to now, through a vintage black&white camera I have hooked up on a 2,4 GHz Tx on a BAD plane, withOut sound...

I really like this site, as FPV is my newest interest. Ten years ago I was making my own remote control via programming the Parallax Stamp II microprocessors hooked up to a 433 MHz, short range data link! I also fly with Real gliders from time to time and one day I'll build my own AirChair! So, I really like electronics, model planes and Front seat flying... vouala... FPV!

Thank you FPVlab.com for giving us the chance to gather and share our passion with the rest of the world...

    All comments are actually Wanted,
    Gadetsakis Apostolos (aka DeltaMan)

My Phoenix Wing finally flew nicely

    Hello All.

I'm very happy because this weekend, a big wing that I made flew nicely after about 8 months since the first wing was made, experimenting (not much) with setups and the like... We named the Wing Phoenix, which is spelled "Foinikas" in Greek. I want to thank my friends in Athens for helping me out. We made this plane for FPV purposes of course...
It is rather heavy on the video you'll see, at 3050 gramms (107 oz !) with the 4S/10.000 mAh LiPo, a 220 gramms (7,8 oz) motor and an 11x8 folding propeller, but it is currently on a Diet, trying to take it down to 2300 gramms (about 81 oz). I will also attach a picture from a CG calculator where you can see the Wing area and other data...

Thank God for that wonderful hobby...

At the end of video you can see some close-ups on the model, the motor and elevons etc...

Good morning to you All. It's almost 10:00 here in Greece...

Sometimes I feel sorry for myself. I haven't even really flown FPV for a long time now, but in August I had to fullfill my Lust for a bigger plane which, in my dreams, could fly for a long time and travel far enough... Well, I don't know how this is going to end or when it will end, but I had to show it to you...
It's all built with 30 and 15 mm thick styrofoam, reinforced with thin plywood, composite fabrics and epoxy where it's needed. Landing gear is built again with carbon and front wheel comes from a car's backdoor opening mechanism (don't know the word). Fuselage is 2,8 meters long and the height at wing's saddle from the ground is 78 cm!
Where the canopy's line can be seen I plan to put a glass. Tail is just put together for photo reasons. I don't know if both the horizontal and the vertical stabilizers will be finally used for the actual flight. It's just a mockup to see how it all goes together...
This fuselage is maint to stay with me for maaaaaany years and I plan to test several wings on it... First one will be a 3,6m and later I plan to go to 6 meters will solar cells on it...

I know, I know, it looks awful but I had to make something big in August since I had the materials...

Your comments and thoughts are kindly welcomed...

Thanks Sentry. I like watching and reading the whole forum for now as I'm new on this.

I don't even have the 25 required posts to see the buy/sell section but that's ok... it keeps me having a goal for something... !

I'll keep studying, but when I have something to show I can't wait...
