What kind of flight time are you guys getting... my build is underway. I just ordered 4x 3s 4000mAh batteries and I am trying to determine what I can expect. I planning on running 2 in parallel, so I can have two flights without recharging.

I am going to be using the following power system:
    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=16234
    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=6459

    Electronics Initially:
    Spectrum DX8 w/AR7000 receiver
Fox Tech 5.8 Ghz 200mW w/ Helical and CL or BEV RC 1.3Ghz 400mW w/ SPW and CL (suggestions on which VX/TX I have both, can't really decide which one)

    Electronics Future Planned:
LRS (DL, EzUHF) not sure which
    Eagle Tree EloggerV4
    Eagle Tree OSDPro
    Eagle Tree GPS module

Thank you in advance for sharing your wisdom... I'll post some pics what I get the covering finished.

I'm using that same motor, a Turnigy Plush 60A, 9x6E prop, and 2x 3s 4000mAh batteries. Total weight is 2.5kg.
I get about 40min flying time, of which some is gliding around at higher altitude. Cruising speed of 40-45km/h draws about 10A.

Other equipment onboard which I'm very happy with:
    - EZUHF
    - DragonOSD

What do you think of the EZUHF? I am leaning toward this over DL mostly because of the head tracking being independent of the radio.

I'm very happy with it. I've used the headtracker for a while but prefer to use rudder for pan and throttle stick for tilt (can choose between throttle/tilt with a switch). I don't see the plane in my view, so with a headtracker it's difficult to know if you're facing directly forward.

That is cool... how did you mix that in to the radio? I did something similar with a pan/tilt awhile back but i did it with the radio in helicopter mode and used the throttle/pitch curves/mixes. It allowed me to flip into idle1 and have cruise throttle flip into idle 2 to have a climbing throttle. while in idle 1 and 2 I had pan and tilt. normal mode disabled the tilt and the throttle stick was the throttle as normal.

I have the Turnigy 9x with the er9x custom firmware. You can mix anything with that radio!
Throttle channel was mixed back to itself which results in the throttle staying at the level it was when the switch is flipped, so you can set your desired throttle level, then flip over to tilt while the throttle stays at that level.

What? That makes my Brain hurt thinking about it... Can you post your mixes?

I don't really understand why it works, but i found the solution on the 9x forum. I don't know if this is possible on other radios though. I'll post the mixes tomorrow after work, I'm on my way to bed now (past 10pm here).

how durable is this plane? can it fly for a relatively long time, yet go fast? I am looking for a new FPV plane and cant really decide between this and a ZII.

Okay here's the mixes. The channels are as follows:
    Ch1 - throttle
    Ch2 - aileron
    Ch3 - elevator
    Ch4 - OSD mode switch
    Ch5 - pan
    Ch6 - tilt
    Ch7 - OSD temporary switch

What you see on the screen is as follows from left to right:
    ||| channel number ||| percentage of the output ||| source (eg. which stick, switch, dial) ||| switch to activate/deactivate the mix.

At Ch1 you see two mixes.
The first one is the usual throttle mix. The source is throttle stick (THR) and it is switched on/off by the rudder D/R switch (!RUD). The ! before RUD means that the switch is in the off position for this mix to work.
The second mix is activated when the RUD switch is in the on position. You'll see that its source is CH1. The moment you switch from the first mix to the second mix, it takes the last known value of Ch1 (throttle stick position) and feeds that into Ch1 again until it receives another value (by switching back to the first mix with the RUD switch). By feeding the last known throttle value into Ch1, it keeps your throttle at that speed without going back to the default 0% for that channel. That's how I think it works.

Ch6 is the tilt channel, and its input is the throttle stick (THR). It is activated with the RUD switch.

    I hope this makes sense!
