So I have a question about the shock cord. It runs the entire perimeter of the aircraft correct? Even through the motor mount and the elevon hinges? How does it stay in the motor mount gap when you pull it tight and not come out and pull across the gap? Thanks for the help, I just want to make sure I'm doing it right

The way I did mine, I started at the spot where the motor mount is going to be and glued it in there and went around the corner and glued that in and let it set each time before I went along the trailing edge.

IT CAME TODAY! so I've got some time to work on it
it is a lot bigger than I expected- came in a big box with no packaging, but I suppose that its going to take a lot harder hits than those of a USPS truck I had to stand on my bed to get the whole thing in the picture!

    gorilla glue time....

So my Deep Reaper build is near it's finish. Got all the electronics mounted last night, but ran into a snag when trying to program the DOSD+ V2 with my MacBook. No way I'm able to get the USB to Uart controller working with Paralells Desktop. Stayed up until 3 am and the alarm clock is set at 6 am, so I'm bit tired today... The plans for tonight will be to find and old laptop with Windows on it, do the initial programming of the osd. Then hook up the motor, and check that everything is working. Finishing up with taping and laminating all the holes and cuts I've made. Hopefully I'll be able to do the maiden tomorrow night (if the weather permits it). Kepping my fingers crossed.

Good luck with the maiden! If it's set up right, you'll be very happy with how it flies. Post some photos of your DR layout.
No dancing in the car! You'll step on my penguin.

    Finally finished!

She's not the prettiest bird around, but she's intended to be my fpv workhorse along with my tricopter.
All up weight ended at 2009 g. (just under 71 ounces).
Spun the motor up in the living room late last night, and the power from the 3536 motor seems more than adequate.
I will probably get her in the air tonight, all depending on the weather.

Looks great! Is your ESC closed up inside? Just keep an eye on its temperature after the flight to make sure it doesn't get too hot in there.
At 2kg it should fly great! Mine is 2.5kg and it still flies great, and glides pretty well for such a heavy wing.

    Thanks!
And yes, the esc is closed up inside under some thin paper and the laminate. Simply forgot to cut the hole for the esc's cooling plate. Thanks for reminding me!
