Thread: 70KM ANTENNA !!!!! ;)

Last week in Spain the weather was quite unstable. This is good news for thermal gliding. I couldn't miss the opportunity. Yesterday the weather was even better than in many summer hot days.

The most important for a good gliding experience is the previous planning and an accurate weather forecast.

    New Record 71 Km!!!

    Hello:

Yesterday I achieved my new world range record using this amazing antenna.

The maximum range was 71 Km. I had good video all the time, this time flying high over low mountains terrain.

I post some screenshots, the video will be available shortly.

    Reaching 50 Km. outbound.

    Banking at 60 km.

Reaching the new world record 71 km.

Returning home at 56 km. left wing view. Amazing video quality!!

How many engineers does it take to change a light bulb?

Let's say we have walked a long way since the first prototypes. Now we use etanol for cooling, and a professional CNC router...

However, it took quite a few attempts to write the right CNC code. The drills are made in small steps, letting the bit cool between steps.
