I added the connector directly on the Tx antenna, I should have 90deg SMA adapter shortly.

They can be upside down.
OK, but not horizontally, right?
Only in special occasion. For example: I have someone with a long range onmi, the LR omni don't cover overhead too well so he used a normal omni sideway on diversity to cover overhead.
This setup effectively make a tracker-killer.

I just saw your Turbine antenna, is it worth getting over the one I just received?

The made the fan because the turbine is long to built, the fan retain much of the turbine properties. I don't think it is worth changing.
