I want to show you my split zephyr. the maiden flight was a few days ago. It flies very good. the hardest part was to launch it myself. It is a lot easyier to have someone else who throws the zeph.
I had to build a zeph that I can transport easy in my car, so that there is still some place left for my new born daughter and her stuff. Otherwise my wife wouldn't let me take the zeph on vacation ;-)
ok now the specs:

Onboard recording: GoPro
Total weight: with 2200mAh battery 2000g, with 3000mAh battery 2200g
Building the split parts:
I ordered the zeph already split in 2 wingparts and 1 centerpart (in two halfes). chris also sent me aluminium tube pieces that fit exactly on the main spars.
First I had to glue the centerpart together and I glued the main spars in (Don't glue the last 5cm from the edge of the foam). I cut the main spars the same length as the foam. Next I glued the alupieces onto the main spars.
on the wingparts I had to drill bigger holes for the aluparts. Then I glued the main spars into the wingparts without putting some glue in the first 5cm of the hole. that was the most difficult part. (I used a straw to put gorilla glue deeper into the hole)
As you can see I made removeable winglets.
All the electronics on the wingparts were joined with sub-d plugs. (see pictures)
I painted the zeph in signal-red for other paragliders or gliders to see it better.
