Thanks Tim! I'm looking forward to trying it out. I've only ever used the camera without the protective case...and it cost me. I'm thinking your product is cheap insurance for the replacement camera. ;-)

Yes, that's how you should look at it. The GoPro camera itself is extremely sturdy. I've crashed mine into the ground many times, but the camera would always sit in the dirty happily recording. The weakest link is the lens and I managed to scratch up 2 GoPro cameras before I decided to create LayerLens. I have not had a crash since I added a LayerLens over my GoPros (I have 3 now), but I am sure that day will come. I "look forward" to the day when I scratch my first LayerLens protective glass lens and I will enjoy taking the scratched glass lens out and putting a new one in for less than $10 bucks and in under 2 minutes.

Just wanna recommend this protection. I was doing some low fast flying with my quad today. I caught the ground and scratched the protective lens!! That would have been my GP!!

Thanks again to Tim for designing great products

Kevin... it sucks that you crashed, but that's awesome!
Could you upload a picture of your beat up LayerLens? You're the first persion I know of that this happened to -- but I am sure you're not the only one!

Actually, it was more of a tumble on frozen earth. No damage to the quad, just the lens.

    I replaced it already

I still have the scratched lens, but no footage :/

Edit: lens is in the trash and it's gone...I do have footage of after the crash that you can see the scratch's effect on the lens...

    Mmm... you are too fast
Would love to see the footage. Anyone have a picture of their LayerLens after a crash with scratches in the glass lens?
