You would think so, but I can't seem to get it to do anything useful. I get some P oscillations after a high speed run. As I lower the throttle, TPA turns down, and its oscillates on pitch axis. I have tried some D, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Running digital servos at 300hz. Closest hole on the servo horn, furthest hole on control surface, with a big horn.

D-term should work as a dampener in current PID.
TPA is a good function but the problem is that it's based on Throttle and not speed.
It would acquire fetching speed from GPS and increase TPA depending on that.
A Pitot tube would be absolutely best.
The TPA function needs a rewrite for that.

Had a mishap with my Naze32 equipped SuperCub.

Was still testing and tuning things, it was flying well in acro, it was still diving in horizon, and loiter and RTH both seemed to mostly be doing what they were supposed to. The problem came when I was flipping back and forth through the modes, it just went stupid and stopped taking control inputs. End result was a full throttle dive in to the dirt. I'm going to transfer everything in to a new fuse, but this was a little disappointing.

Anyhow, I'm looking for recommendations on a decent, inexpensive gps head to use. The cheap ones I currently have take *forever* to get a lock and never seem to pick up more than 5 sats at any given time.

After 2 days of messing with my naze32 I finally got it to work thanks to this thread. So I would like to give a big shout out to Patrike!
Now on to my problem I have a D4R-II connected to my naze32 (Acro) running PPM and would like to change the channel mapping for a more traditional type airplane so 1 is throttle, 2 is aileron, 3 is rudder and 4 elevator or something close to that with the remaining outputs being pass through for flaps, camera and whatever else. Is it possible? and could I get some help with the code if so.

Channel map is in the receiver tab in configurator.

Anyone come across where a M8N gps will cause a periodic servo glitch/pulse timed to the sat fix led? I have used separate power supplies, filters, to no avail. As soon as I either pull the tx/rx lines, or the power from the gps, the servo glitching stops. Does not happen with my other gps units, but this Holybro unit seems to send a some sort of pulse that ends up glitching the servos. I would like to use this, as the sat fix is super fast, and it gets sats in the high teens.
Also, in the configurator, the green lock and red not lock text with blink at the same interval in the gps tab. Gps unit is getting 10+ sats.

Config as set as Ublox, 384000(tried 115200 as well).

    Hi,

I have seen some problem with using M8N gps on I2C gps on Multiwii.
When the sat's go higher than 15-16 there's some overflow.
Mwii gets Low sat's and looses FIX.

Maybe there's something similar in the BF code to?
I've only tested it with ublox-6 so far and i only get ~8-10 sat on that.

If the issue exists in Baseflight to,
Then it can explain the problems other had loosing FIX from really high Sat count.

Can anyone try to verify if it can be like that?

    /Patrik

    Hi Patrik,

Over was he past year or so I have been flying with M8N GLONASS GPS units and your FW. Every once in a while I would lose sat fix on occasion, unannounced. It would happen every four to five flights and with significant satellites locked.(over 13) It would only last a few seconds but it was strange to me. Your thought may be what I’m experiencing. I will have to dig though my old DVRs and review.

Hi Patrik, Yes this is correct and my experience also I think I lowered the port to 57.600 although it should have been there in the first place and can't say it it a full fix. I have found only the F4 boards seem to handle all GPS without any issues. It follows that besides the extra memory F1 and F3's are pretty similar and we think there is possibly also noise induced into the I2c bus. Also as you say with a fast refresh and lots of Sat's the F1's just appear to go into random overflow. A poor positioning and noisy installation may have some users not experiencing this overflow

    I updated my baseflight to || Baseflight_FW_160622.rar ||

-Had to remap one aileron servo - missing?
-Cut and pasted most of config dump to reset all else.
    -thought accelerometers were calibrated

On launch the place wanted to bank right, had to correct on stick to get a level-ish flight. Both RTH and Pos seemed to follow straight line - away (could be an issue related to banking?)

Crash on return to home from fighting bank issue (should have landed with FPV goggles on.... since I lost orientation of plane on transition from fpv googles to line of sight). I like to land with line of sight, rather than FPV - but I'm changing my mind on that now, lol.

    Will repair and attempt again.
