There was a time when I thought this item was stupid:

Do not fly with a video system that is capable of outperforming your R/C system in terms of range

Then I switched to a cloverleaf/helical set up on the video... oops. The next 4 flights involved out of bounds crashes (ok, one landing was good) due to flying behind objects. I was so used to getting a warning in my video that I had disturbed the Fresnel zone that I completely neglected the laws of physics 4 times in a row.

@boopidoo - You can get that camera from secuitycamera2000 for $50 shipped, still.

If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

Hi Guys a quick question please.

I am just finishing off my first Zephyr all built and flying great but having a couple of problems with the video and audio.

Have a fox 1.3ghz tx and a dx201 video is ok but at full revs it vibrates so ends up blurry (still messing with that) but the audio has lots of interference. if I unplug the camera it all clears up!. Its not as bad as my old sn777 the audio interference was unbearable, but it is annoying and distracting.
I currently have a sander style filter between the battery power and the tx and cam power. also ferrite on the camera lead as well and the shielding on the cam and tx is grounded at the power end.

Can you guys suggest anything else to filter out the noise from the cam.

    Thanks

    John.

do you transmit audio? if so, a 10K resistor in line with the audio should cure the problem.

Gave the resistor a go but it is still noisy, was not sure which wire you meant to tried it on the signal wire and the positive.

Both have the same result, If I power up first then plug the camera in I can hear the power in it. Sounds like a light Sabre if I move it around with my hand.

    any more ideas?

Just t confirm, you added the resistor on the audio signal, correct?

Yes I tried that first then the positive power as it had no effect.

ok, that's a tough one. do you have a video of the noise somewhere?

Not as yet I should be recording in a day or so so will post some then.
I took everything apart and am going to start the wiring from scratch after the first couple of flights I want to move some wiring around. I am also going to start a thread on the build with some pics and videos when I get them.

Would there be any advantage of using a separate lc filter on both the vtx and the camera ?

    Thanks for the help.

    John.

not really, no. make sure the power coming from the battery is clean, the rest is just a very marginal improvement (not noticeable).
