Howdy Everyone,
Having extensive experience with unmanned aircraft, I have seen the impressive results, robust construction, and simple nature of 5.8 ghz video and a high-gain dish antenna.
I am looking at the possible purchase of a 12’ crank-upspeaker tripod to substantially elevate the antenna, a Servo City heavy-duty panand tilt system for tracking, and an L-com 5.8 ghz 30dBi dish. Combined with a 200mw TX, is there any reasonI should expect less than optimal result with such a system?
While I have a good grasp of the reasons various frequencies(900, 1.2, etc) are used, the different types of antennas, etc, I feel like I am going out on a limb with this sort of a setup. Before I end up dumping $2000 into a GCS, I’dlike to get some feedback so I don’t end up wasting my money. All comments are welcome.
Pete
