Thread: Duo5800 V& vs V2 ?

  1. #1

    Question Duo5800 V& vs V2 ?

    Hi !!

Anyone know the difference between the Duo5800v1 & Duo5800v2 ?

I've purchase the duo5800 in august 2010 and I don't use it yet ... (due to a new daughter in the familly !! )

I've just setup my ground station and I would like to know the difference between v1 & v2.

    FPV ... i'm coming back

    Thanks Guys !

The V1 uses linear voltage regulators which means the Duo5800 can run a tad hot on 3S on a hot day in the sun as excess voltage is converted into heat, best to run off of 2S to prevent overheating in that case. The V2 uses a switching voltage regulator and hence won't run hot. It also has different receiver modules (custom version with a number of changes) with somewhat better sensitivity.

    Congrats on your new daughter!

    Merci beaucoup!

Almost same question, but for the antenna tracker.
Some docs i saw, mentioned there is only a rev.2 of the tracker working with the duo v2.
    Rumor or truth?
Also havent's seen a shop selling a rev.2 of the tracker. (at least not declared as one)
Only HK shows in their sku number thats a rev.1 -> EZANTTRKREV1

By the way, i asked sander for an antenna reco for the duo, here it is:
-> For the antennas I use the supplied whip and a L-com 19dBi flat patch, works a treat.

No such thing, EzAntennaTracker has seen two revisions, years ago.

Hi Sander - my Duo5800v2 arrived yesterday. I took a peek inside and it looks like it does not require any modification for use with a skew, can you confirm?

    thanks in advance

How can you tell the difference? I would like to buy one, however I would like to assur that I have the v2. I saw that some ship it with antennas and some without? Are those without version 1?

    Thank you and kind regards,

    David

I realize I'm late to the party here, but would love some info:

I currently have an EZAntenna tracker EZANTTRKREV1 that I would like to use with a duo5800 that I have yet to purchase. I see the duo5800 v2 and want that, but want to be sure that my antenna tracker will be compatible, or if I need to get a rev. 2. RMRC's website says that the duo5800 only works with the antenna tracker v.2 AND they don't show that they are selling the duo5800 V2.

    Please advise.

(all this rev. talk cracks me up since I am one...)
