Graupner CAM prop folding past center

Ok, Ive got a blade stop in place, sandwiched between the prop and collet to keep it from folding too far on the back end, but what about the front face? I know centrifugal force keeps the prop straight, but on startup for a brief moment its striking the airframe before it spins fast enough to straighten out. During a few test run-ups it actually got stuck, which would be pretty bad in the air.

How do you guys keep the cam prop from folding forward?

Ive seen a few other wings running the cam, and it looks like I can solve this by just running the spinner back plate. Is that correct?

Just make another plate for the other side as well - that's what I did.

No bc I'm testing a standard non-folding prop right now. It's EXACTLY like the one you have - just make another one for the other side of the collet to keep it from folding the other way and adjust the length accordingly.

How could this possibly happen in flight with air pushing the prop aft? You'd have to stall going vertical and be falling backwards? Even in that scenario the plane would (should) right itself and travel forward again.

    it could happen quite easily.
The force of the props opening will exceed the relative airflow; they will push past center every time.

I am no physicist so don't expect a detailed explanation, but the rearward positioned mounting hole of the prop prevents forward movement while spinning, regardless of airflow.

as I stated originally, its the initial spin up before the rpm's get going that causes a hit.
Dont worry about it though. Im fixing it regardless
