Thread: The 'Ask Sander anything' thread

  1. #461
    Hiya Sander,

I know the EZUHF is compatible with the Futaba 9z, but I am curious about head tracking. I have 2 questions.
    1. Can I hook the EZUHF up to the 9Z via the module connectors (I'd probably route the wires inside the case for this.
    2. I'd like to use my Foxtech AIO goggles for head tracking. If I plug the goggles into the Futaba trainer port (and assign two channels to the trainer function), then I assume this will simply work? (assuming the goggles and the futaba radio are already compatible).

The other option is to connect directly to EZUHF's trainer port, but then is it possible to turn HT on and off in-flight?

    ok that was three questions...

If you could keep only one fpv plane, which would it be, and why?
    Tractors are where it's at.

What's the best way to cool the IMRC 600mw TX in dead air? What is the maximum temp that the board can rise to without damaging it?

Use a high quality heatsink and coat it with high quality CPU heat sink compound before installing it. Then mount a tiny computer fan over it (there are many that run off of 12V. Or 5V, if you need that).

Hmm...on hindsight, I should have let Sander answer this. This is his thread, after all. Sorry all.

I found a little 1x1" heatsink but no fans this small. Any leads?

    Hey Sander,

Given that my last IRC-loaded zephyr gave me various issues, i've been trying to respect the IRC-Sanctioned wiring diagram as closely as possible with my new zephyr build.

I found that post in another thread and have been using your attached diagram as a primary guide.

I'm curious about the optional LC filter that's indicated between the 4s power source and vtx. I've heard people mention something about the vtx having it's own filter and that adding one before it would be kinda pointless. Under what circumstance should I install one? I have the equipment necessary to build a filter, but if it's not necessary, i'd rather save myself the trouble. They're easy to build so if it could benefit my system in ANY way, i'll install one.

    Looking forward to your reply.
    thx

I typically put that in as longer runs of wire to the Vtx (to power it) will cause for pickup and lines in the video.
