Thread: DIY Your own Moxon Antenna!

    What guage wire do I use for 433mhz and can anyone direct me to finding the measurements for the wire thanks. Oh and what kind of coax cable do I need?

    I used a coat hanger. About 2mm thick. Works a treat.

    i use it on my rangelink. (This is a DL, though). I really like it. The gain is handsome, but more importantly I fly with goggles: When using the omni, I get UHF interference in my goggles. With the MOXON, it's crystal clear picture.

    What is a handsome gain to you. I use a full heads up display will it help with that also.

    Can anyone tell me if thin wire will be bad? I've got mig wire I use for 5.8ghz that I would like to use.

    It should do ok. It might shift the frequency slightly. Check in the MoxGen program to see what dimensions it gives you.

    Speaking of frequency.
    Please tell what the frequency range is for the Moxon antenna.
    I have a OrangeLRS Tx that is set for hopping +=20Mhz either side of 433. I'd like to know if I need to decrease the hopping range.

    I was thinking of trying the same.
    would you care to share your material and dimensions?
    I don't have access to any "real" RF equipment.
