Been reading forums for years now, but never really posted anything. But FPVLAB got me to it I see
About me: 39 yrs/old, work at the UN, lived and travelled at lot around the world. Currently in Rome, Italy. Long Name Pedro Tigre de Vasconcelos (A.k.a RoadRunner FPV)
Hobbies and flight experience:
Family of aviators and an aviation nuts since I was a kid. I hold a private pilot licence Sea/Land (US and Europe) for 11 years now and have done all my flying mostly in single engine Land. However, got many hours in all sorts of planes and type of flying, such as, Twins Sea and Land, High performance, Gliders, aerobatics, and my pride, 5 hours of full scale CRJ simulator United Express. Relevant regions flown: USA, Europe, Latin America and Africa, and currently working on my IFR rating.
I discovered R/C many years ago but did not get hocked back then. Range and sensations were just not comparable enough. Then one day, a year and a half ago,I saw a funky video of a flight showing a heads up display from a small RC. That got my full attention. Then, 6 months after... OF COURSE, I saw a video of a crazy dud flying down a mountain. Proximity something it wqas called I believe! Something you DO NOT do in GA. Dud’s name was Trappy or something like that! that was it!
Hangar: – 13 planes from gliders to Zephyr and EDF jets. Logging hours on FPV as much as I can. And getting more and more into it. Also, taking advantage of the travel to fly flying in interesting places.
Advice for FPV flyers:
1 - Be safe and try not to break the rules (too often? )
2 – Read aviation manuals and information/regulations. Believe me, It is very useful and I really think it would make you a better FPV pilot.
3 – Get an introductory flight at your local airfield. 50bucks! Or better, consider getting your private licence if you can. If you love FPV, you will love it as well.
Advice for Pilots:
1 – TRY THIS THING! Its amazing
2 - You can Barnstorming like in the 20’s
3 – AND MOST IMPORTNATLY!!! You don’t die on IMPACT!!!! Awesome!
If any FPV fliers near Rome, let me know!
