Thread: New ezOSD Problem before takeoff

  1. #11
When I first plugged in my new EZOSD it was displaying some information overtop of the others. I think it was the firmware upgrade that caused it. But a few bootups later and it went away. It also displayed some odd values but I thought nothing of it after it stopped doing it. Btw, TX plug on the sensor is 5V because that's what the Immersion cam is. Can't use a single battery setup with our cams. Would have been nice if there was a switch that changed between 5V and 12v.

No, it isn't. The Tx plug on the EzOSD current sensor is a direct connection to the battery, it needs to be connected to the power connector of our Txs, it carries whatever voltage the main battery has.

Looks to me like it's RFI. Do you have a choke on your VTX wires Aaron? That might help.

If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

I do have a choke on the VTX wire. I must stress that this only happens when Im holding the plane. After its in the air, its great.

-I have a ferrite ring on the video power wire.
-12v 1.2ghz 800mW video transmitter is mounted on wing tip, wires run through carbon spar to wingtip.
    -Camera is 12v also.
-Using balance tap off main flight battery for video power.

You're not using Chainlink for RC control by any chance? or Dragonlink for that matter?

... or the EzUHF, since the problem appears with that also He's using 72MHz, though.

I don't see Aaron standing on top of a DTV tower blasting several KW into the air do you? Or does he use a 72MHz booster perhaps? Questions ... questions ...

hahaha. No no and no. futaba 9C, with hitec spectra module (72mhz synthesized). Corona RP8D1.

I verified today that it only happens when my rc Transmitter is close. If I put the transmitter on the ground, it settles down. Not as pronounced with the new firmware upgradefrom 106 to 114.

    LOVE the mwh/km calculation though!

Do I sense a range attempt coming soon?
