    New project: Twinstar 2

So for my next project, the plane had to have the possibility to carry all my usual FPV bells and whistles and also be able to fit in my trusty 3s 5000mah 40/80C pack.

I also wanted real bad a twin motor after the dead of my CL415 so I ended picking up a Twinstar 2 and so far I'm really please with the space available and overall quality of the kit.

    The current setup:

    Motors: EMAXX FC2822 1200Kv
    ESC: Turnigy PLUSH 30A
    Props: 8x3.8 counter rotating props
    OSD: EzOSD
    LRS: EzUHF
vtx: Lawmate 500mW 2.4GHz with home-brew inverted Vee
    cam: RCV922
    HD recording: GoPro HD
Lipo: single 3s 5000mah 40/80C (gives me an average flight time of 35-40 min)

    On the ground:
    Video rx: ImmersionRC DUO2400 V1
Antenna: 11 dBi 2.4GHz Diversity Flat Patch
    Haier 10'' tv/monitor

Stock motor mounts for my EMAXX FC2822 1200kv motors.

Did some carving in the wings to run all the wires. Kept xt60 plugs for quick change in case one of the ESC needs to be replaced. I'm using the PLUSH30 ESC.

The wing is now a one pc wing, don't like to mess with too much stuff when I want to fly and it. You can see the 2 halves of the fuselage also.

Now time to work on the fuse. Being a kit, the fuse comes in 2 parts so you have all the access/space that you want to carve in and fit whatever you want.

Only had to carve like 3mm on each fuse halves to be able to fit my 5000mah pack. I could fit 2 of them if I want:

EzOSD installed where the servo usually go. Rudder/elevator servos are now on the tail:

Did carve the canopy to get quick access to the EzOSD's buttons. Also note the GPS outside the fuse:

Same thing on the other side, Lawmate 500mW 2.4GHz vtx where the servo would usually go:

Air scoop to cool the vtx:

Current sensor/switching BEC under the wing:

EzUHF rx is located inside the tail, a hatch was cut to give quick access to it:

EzUHF rx's antennas coming out of the tail and locating buzzer on top:

All done, only thing left is to install the flight cam and GoPro:

    Installing the GoPro

I just cut a recess in the nose and glued in a pvc plate:

    Checking fitment:

Secured in place with a zip-tie and half case to protect the lense:

    That's a neat build!

Let's hope those esc's don't burn up in there from lack of cooling.

    Thanks for the comment!

As for the esc's, they won't We cannot tell by just looking at the picture but they do reach out a bit of the pockets where they are so they can get some air flow

    Very neat!
Will you connect all wires to the wings individually?
BTW, I haven't had a problem with velcroing my gps to the ceiling of my TwinStar.

Looks good! Very clean. Two questions:

Is the gopro also your live feed cam or just for HD recording?

Any idea on expected flight times w/ the 3s 5000?

Having worked on these, I know that the issue is getting the weight of the battery back far enough. I had to make a special device to help me remove the battery. Have you checked the CG?
