I picked this up a couple of months ago for $8 + shipping from Discount Jungle through Amazon.

Before this recorder I was teathered to my laptop with Easy Cap. The problem I had with this setup up was; erratic frame loss (resulted in slow and or fast video). I also had to have the laptop on Power Mode which gave me a battery life of max 1 hour.
    __________________________________________________ ___________________

    Pro's:
    -Small light weight solution.
    -Input and output.
    -No remote/simple 4 button solution.
    -SD card
    -10:35 length video = 192mb @ 640x480
    -Records through static.

    Con's:
-Mirror like finish center makes the lights difficult to see even in shade.
    -5v Power.
    -3.5mm A/V Jack's
-Frame Loss experienced in dark/total video loss situations. (Need further testing)
-Visible video degration in coparison to google/screen.

Thanks for posting this. I have a few Q's:

Is there a limit to the filesize it can record? I.e. does it freeze or cut up large files?
Does it have a limit to the GB size SD card it can hold?
Ever had it freeze or lockup for any reason at all, even just randomly?

I havnt recorded long enough for this event to take place. I shall test it after work. I think i did have it freeze once, i was night flying and wast sure if i hit the record or not i couldnt see the lights, i also notice if the video is very very dark, it records black. Nothing visible however you can still see through goggles.

I believe its 32gb. I run a PNY 8gb Class 10 SD in mine, so far no problems.

Not that i could, tell as of yet. Maybe, see above.
    Just found this:

    Might help some.

"Up to 30fps @ VGA with audio 4GB max for each individual file then generates new file automatically"

Ill test it tonight at home to see how long the delay is.

I have one and it does okay but the video quality isn't great. I mainly use it to record my GPS coordinates so I can find my plane if I crash. I peeled the silver sticker off of the big button so I can see the lights now. They are almost impossible to see in the sunlight otherwise.

I got one today in the mail - I'll get around to testing it at some point. I'm more about the reliability than the quality - but in the end the FPV-JAPAN DVR or Sony Mini-DV may have to work for me.

I'd be interested in the quality, personally I would LOVE a solid state recorder that gave me the same quality as mu Sony Mini-DV. I haven't found that yet though...

I also have one, not too bad of quality for the price. I have noticed that it will freeze for a split second when there is a lot of static, I am guessing it's because of the high bitrate required to record static. Perhaps my card isn't fast enough, it's a kingston 4gb class 4 microsd using a full size sd adapter.
