Left and Right polarized cp antennas on diversity

    Hey Alex

Thought of this last night at 1am, and I was hoping you could tell me why this won't work- if you're flying in a high multipath area (indoors, around trees, next to the biggest snow halfpipe in America.... ), could you have a left polarized AND a mirror right polarized antenna on your ground station? One would (in my head, at least) pick up the direct video, and one would receive all the reflected signals? Or is it not worth it, because you could just use right polarized only, and be perfectly fine?

    Curious.

    Kevin

    Click on it. Seriously.

Seriously? I was thinking about the exact same thing the other day
    +1 for a helpful idea

How many engineers does it take to change a light bulb?
    3. One to hold the light bulb and two to turn the ladder.

You don't want the multipath signals in your video. So you only want one polarisation. Use a cloverleaf and a helical for instance.

The reflected signal doesnt have the same quality as the direct one, as it being reflected it may be most liekely distorted, you only want to go for the direct one ;-)

It will not work. Reflected signals are good for causing multipath interference in your LOS link, but not good enough for being used as a second path in a diversity system, especially when the emitter is moving. The received power changes too randomly and too quick.

However, I am using polarization diversity in a different way. Have you checked this?

Yes! Exactly! In fact, I'd proably go so far as to say use a cloverleaf on the copter and a fan (trueRC's site) for best results. If you are really nice, I might make you a pentalobe sphere

If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.
