    Tricopter Props Help

    Hey guys,

Working on building my first tricopter using the new Delrin kit and I'm needing some assistance with prop choice.

I originally ordered a pack of these guys:

    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...6pcs_set_.html

But realized I need 1 clockwise rotating prop, with 2 counter-clockwise props. It doesn't seem the GWS above have a matching clockwise prop.

Can anyone suggest a good set of CW and CCW props to buy for slow flying FPV?

    Thanks for the assistance!

    Shaun

On a tricopter the props can all rotate the same direction. Oh, and on my quad I used Dragonfly Innovation props and am very happy with them. I have crashed a lot and haven't broken a prop yet.

He has links at the bottom of the page. In the thread he recommends Maxx Products 10x4.5 EPP1045 Counter Rotating Pair Propellers.

    This is the link.

As RCMIke said, you can fly with all the same direction props easily. I did it on my tri, it just makes it lean slightly in a hover. You can also put a little bit of counter thrust in the from the front motors by adding a washer or 2 to the motor mount to offset the torque.

Yeah use normal props with your tri, way easier if you break one.

I can't compare because I've only flown with all tractors, but I've never had an issue with them. Just make sure your rear motor leans a bit so it's pulling the tail to the right when standing behind the tricopter. I set mine up with it all square, then moved the servo arm one spline and it was real close. Adjust the linkage from there. Adjust with the tail in rate mode and get it so it holds pretty straight, then once in heading hold it will have no problem!

GWS also has "HD" props, my quad is a heavy lift and they work great. I also use the APC props.

just flew them, they work MUCH better than APC´s for my quad. I think it´s because they are lighter thus react quicker to power decrease other than reducing rotational inertia of the vessel.
