Cinemizer Ski Goggles Mod

I need to do the ski goggles mod because of two reasons:

1. Light from outside is driving me nuts. Right now I fly with a ski cap over my face.
2. The two screens are too close together for me, I need to separate them by a few millimeters to fit my eye-distance.

But I didn't find any how-to's or step-by-step-images on the forums!

This is how far I have come today:


Can anyone give me some tips on how to cut the cinemizer in half and fit the screens into the ski goggles screen?

1. Do you keep both layers of the ski goggles screen or use only the front "glass"?
2. How can the screens be fitted precisely? Then user hot glue all around the cinemizer?
3. Do you spray the whole front with black paint?
4. Is there a "best practice" on how to attach the battery box to the headband?
5. Should the video-cable be soldered into the battery box or just leave the plug as is?

Some advice would be useful!

That's for the cinemizer plus, but if you send him measurements he can make you a custom one.

Thanks volto! Actually, I already worked trough that thread :-)

I think I need to have a different solution for my ski goggle, since I want to separate the left and right display (cut the cinemizer plus in half) and put both back into the ski goggles glass a bit further apart to fit my eye distance. I don't think I need to spend 50$ :-) Cutting the plastic and gluing both parts of the cinemizer in is not too complicated I think. But maybe there are some hints from people who have already done this?

Ah, sorry for posting something you've seen already. I'd say just go for it. Whats the worst that can happen?

Trappy why the receiver box in top of grasses an not on side with the wire going down? not a big deal, but seamed less E.T. for those outside FPV that watch us

My Cinemizeres went to repair a yellow spot in right screen (be careful with exposition to sun light in hot summer days) but when they come back I need to somehow control the spacing between screens.
The photo of the opened cinemizers seams to me that LCDs are attached to a board and that the boards are separated (left from right).
If my observation is correct then its possible with a heat gun to stretch the center of the goggles above the nose and stretch them.
