Lol yup, your not kidding, I can pretty much go vertical at a quarter throttle. I have a big 10x7 prop on there so I am hoping that she doesn't torque roll on launch. I am just going to be easy on the throttle on the launch, I have seen several people swinging big props on this bird.
I am using a slow flying prop but I have several 9x7 GWS sport props, perhaps I will strap a watt meter on and test one of those as well. Not sure what the difference in performance would be however.

Test with a watt meter. To funny, I had to use 3 pieces of wood to hold it back.

That just looks plain fun! Gotta love how wings look, if nothing else.
She does look pretty damn bad ass huh? She is just as much fun to fly! I cant wait to punch the throttle with this new motor. I may be telling fisherman's tales but I can see this baby hitting 80 mph level.
Lol, well I was looking over some old threads and it seems that the people who I got suggestions for the motor were all flying the larger Swifts. No wonder everyone kept telling me I was crazy for sticking the motor on it.
I guess I will give it a try though and see how she handles in the air. Never hurts to have to much power I guess, I can always just give less throttle.

So I decided that I am not even going to try the 90g motor out. The guy who is using it on his 50 inch Swift says that his larger swift torque rolls on launch with it so I am guessing my smaller swift will just spin like a top.
I ended up ordering this motor: http://www.graysonhobby.com/catalog/...tor-p-398.html from Grayson Hobbies. Should be plenty of power. This motor pulls about 25amps and 312 watts.

The 2212-06 is a really nice motor. I had 4, one of which was a Grayson. I still have 3, the Grayson one is in Kennesaw somewhere 'cus it fell off the planeI have RCTimer ones on my E* and my Stryker, but they needed magnet work to be as reliable as the Grayson out of the box.
I think you will like it, but still seems might powerful for that plane, I think. At least it will spin a 6-7" prop, so less torque.
duuuude ... try it! 600W / kg isn't that bad. that's what I have on my gliders and my next big zeph![]()
Lol fine, I will try the 90g motor since I have to wait for the Grayson motor to come in. I'll tell you one thing, I will definately be taking off the cam for the first test flight.
I plan on using a APC 6x4 with the Grayson. I did kind of transform my slow and fun flying wing into a FPV speed daemon. Oh well.
