    Mentor TWIN ? Anyone

    Thanks a lot your Royal Sassiness ! ! :-0
    Surfin along, minding my own business, when I see a thread about a guy looking for his next project, a MPX Mentor. I took an interest as I have one and rate it highly.
    His Royal Sassiness pipes up with “Yea great plane “”BUT”” I would make it into a twin with a gopro in the nose ………………………..
    “Oh No Here we go !” Another winter project ! So I now have to surf with a vengeance.
    My Mentor Project Mentor x2
    5s 5000mA 642g 704g 2x 3s 5000mA
    GT 28x26 175g 204g 2x 28-14x8T
    Black Mantis 85A 47g 78g 2x 40A @39g each
    Totals 864g 986g

    Note;
    28-14x8T 300W each with 10x7 or 8200RPM 3/4 320W with a 11x5.5
    GT 28x26 8200RPM 3/4 throttle = 577W with 12x6 900W at WOT (Overkill)

    The Mentor will not notice another 120G (some times I doubt it would be bothered with another Kg ;-). I have the motors, the ESCs and a 3000 3s and some ballast.
    A spare set of wings is about 28GBP. Leave the standard motor in 175g to simulate GoPro (94g) and a little more L0L.
    This experiment will cost me under 40GBP “worth a punt”. Any comments especially from the perpetrator of this scheme, one His Royal Sassiness !

    The Mentor is every bit as good as a twin .... Sounds better ! This is a great conversion, getting about a minutes flight for 220mA.
    Running 2 x 4500mA 3S packs @ 348g x 2. Samsung WB700 on the nose 245g.... 941g .... a Kilo ! ! !
    + 2 nacelles’ , 2 motors, 2 props and 2 ESC`s and it is a dream to fly, It flies just like a 40 Nitro trainer. This is my No.1 model for FVP
    Only downside is I kind of need help with the mount ? Vibration is doing my head in. Its just one experiment after another !
