Really strange. After replying to nukkenfutz this morning, I have just come back in from flying and my tricopter is all over the place. I don't understand as it was flying quite smooth the last time I flew (with nukkenfutz). Now, the power to the front two motors is all over the place and no matter what I do with the trim on the TX, I get it up in the air and then it all changes. COG is perfect. Flying today was a real chore just trying to keep everything in the air. I am going to play with the adjustments on the pots (running HK KK board with 1.6 fw) and double check everything and see if I can work it all out.

I can't wait for my Tricopter Power Distribution Board to arrive :'( it has been stuck in NY for 7 days now (according to USPS).
Any of you guys facing the same problem ?

Anyway, I really hope It'll arrive before July 13th... I'm planning to get some aerial views of the Tour de France. It should make for an interesting review of the new board !

Hello! I had a post earlier but I need an info please. I bought this controller for the Derlin:

Hobbyking KK2.0 Multi-rotor LCD Flight Controller

Because I have the Tricopter ready to fly FPV with all the components installed and all cables connected, is there anyone in here that have it on his Tricopter and
can tell me the settings? I could make the tests my self but I'm afraid not to make any mistake and flip it over or fall in high speed and break something on it. It's
really expensive as you know and I don't want to break it in it's very first flight! It's brand new and never operated... Any help will do, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Mate i dont want to rain on your parade but if your new to tricopters and/or fpv you will crash it a few times before u get it "right" take all the expensive gear off it and just try hovering around LOS over some tall grass first... will save u a whole chunk of change. My board should be here in a week or so but even then the length of your booms and what motors you run will change initial settings and how you prefer the "feel" of it.

Personally i strapped it full of LED's and flew at night when starting out... was the only way i could figure out its orientation, even with painted booms once your ten or so meters away its a lost cause in day time.

I've been very busy lately as we had alot of events (mostly enduro races) in our city, didn't had time to fly my tri, but I was looking on Tim's shop and couldn't find the anti vibration bobins, Tim do you already sell them separately or not yet ?

    Thank you.

You're spot on there. When I first started building my first Tricopter, I spent ages painting the booms so they looked great. After replacing the fifth or sixth boom, I got tired of trying to make them 'look pretty'. As you said, once you get the Tricopter out a little way, it doesn't make any difference what colour the booms are.
I ordered some LED strips but haven't bothered with trying them out yet. I can see their use in low light though.

In my opinion, the best way to fly LOS is to watch the whole tricopter in the air and look at how it moves/changes in regards to aileron, etc, changes on the TX. Quite a few times, I have been 'flying blind' when I start to loose orientation and the only way I have managed to get things back into perspective is to work out the orientation by the way the tri moves and behaves in regards to aileron and elevation controls.

    Hope this makes sense.

Yeah ant makes sense its how i fly most of the time anyway but sometimes your eyes play tricks on you and once u start thinking about which way its pointing when you get in trouble, i still find flying the thing anything but FPV too dangerous
Have u had a chance to strap fpv gear to urs yet?

No, I haven't tried FPV yet. I have all the gear - ordered it ages ago but haven't got to putting it all together yet. I am currently away from 'home' but once I get back I am building another Delrin Tricopter (kit already waiting for me) and also building up the QAV500 (kit also waiting for me). I will be fitting the FPV gear on the 'new' Tricopter to see how it all feels and will then order another set for the quad. I am waiting on the CC3D for the second Tri and hopeful to either put CC3D or Revo on the quad.
In the meantime, I am having a great time with the current set up. There are days when I wonder what the hell I have got myself into, but those days are outnumbered by the 'better' ones.
When I see stuff (video footage) from people like Kevin033, K_G, and others, it inspires me to keep going. I can't wait to be able to contribute in some way.

Hello and thank you for your reply. This is not my first Tricopter, I had an other one and I am familiar of the type of flying with this Platform. I am new to FPV yes but I know how to fly it.

Yes !! I just received the new power distribution board (it was really fast in fact, I shouldn't have been worried about it... 10 days from the US to France).

First look : really great build quality, feels solid and the solder pads are just the right size... it's pretty light too (23g compared to the 18g delrin plate).

Now comes the fun part... Should the plate be facing up or down ? If the solder pads are facing the arms, I really don't see how they should be able to pivot...
Any photo of your build Tim ?
