I think the best way to get the motors is to actually place your order and they reserve them when the next batch arrives as opposed to the email alert option.

Oops I think they recently changed their policy and they don't accept backorders like they did in the past. Disregard

I've used different motors which I don't know the exact Kv but it must be greater than 800 because it's so peppy, it turned my tri into a hot rod. I don't have much time with it to come to firm conclusions, but for sure it's a decent substitute. Check out post #138 for details: http://fpvlab.com/forums/showthread....ll=1#post16219

Yes, they no longer offer the 'backorder' option -- at least not for this product. Not sure why. If we can determine a good alternative motor choice that's easy to come by, I can easily add exact mounting holes into the design before we go to make the production run in about 10 days. Not that I doubt your choice Mike, but I am not sure that your motors are any easier to get then then HK ones. I was thinking about something mass market -- like an ElectryFly, Axis, Hacker, etc. Any ideas?

I found a way to get the AX-2213N motors and sell them with my kit, optionally. My retail price will be a little bit above what HK sells them for as they buy in such large quantities. I think I should be able to sell the motor for about $9 to $10 each, so about $27 to $30 for a set of 3 of them (HK sells them for $7.36, but they have none in stock and I am not sure when they'll get any). Even if you buy them from HK for $7.36, you'll have to pay shipping and wait to get them from HK, which can take time (as I am sure you know). If you buy them from me with the Pro Tricopter Delrin Kit, the shipping price should stay the same -- $8 for the kit and the motors in the US. What do you guys think? Good idea?

That's a great idea! Any way to get the ESC's too?

I don't mind paying a couple extra $ if I know it's coming from a reputable person! -Tyler

I am trying to wholesale the ESCs as well, but have not made progress on that yet.

I have been using the 18 amp ESCs and they seem fine. Thanks -- glad you like the kit.

Are you able to get these motors by the time you get the kits shipped out?

I'll be placing my HK order if you are able to get the motors right away.

And, 10X4.7 Slowfly props, correct? -Tyler
