Packing a tricopter for overseas travel...

Anyone flown out of the US with a tricopter in their checked luggage?

I am going overseas next week and really wanna stow one of these in my checked baggage...just don't wanna have it delayed or anything bc it looks suspicious.

Really wanna take one with me though...

Good question. Try putting a sticker on the bag with the text "Fragile - Contains RC-Helicopter" or something similar when you check it in. This could however make them worry about frequencies.. A second alternative is to leave the props on when you put the tricopter in your bag. That way, in case they open it they will understand that it isn't something dangerous. Depending on which country you are going to it might be a good idea to separate the camera from the tricopter. This would be to make the tricopter look less like a uav-military drone.

Your biggest problem is going to be the LIPOS I do not believe that you are going to be able to take them on the plane whether carried on or checked so you should mail them to the location that you are going to be going prior to going. lol
    FPV is not a crime!

I am asking some friends to seek out some lipos where I will be. Most likely will ship them back home when I'm done. Hope I can get the tri done in the next few days so I can test it.

Thanks, I thought about keeping the props on so it does look like some sort of RC thing and nothing too suspicious. I'll most likely keep the camera gear in my carry-on baggage.
