13 Feet! I get 1-2 decibel loss from a short length of RG316! And if you are using adapters, thats 0.1 or 0.2 decibel loss. Personally I never use more than a 6-inch cable with micro coax.
According to my charts, 13 feet of RG174 at 433MHz will incur a loss of ~9db. Remember that frequency is the most important factor in loss calculations.
Wait I don't understand i looked the loss up, for every 100 feet of RG174 = 2.3 dbi loss

Alex my connectors i have are already are made to fit Rg316 and or RG174 or nay gauge wire that size, so any 5/16 size cable is kinda not good for me right now due to availability around town,
I can always change it later, Just for now all I need to know is will it work, And i'm not going far distance, will having no more then 8 feet on each antenna work Understand i am still figuring all this out and just need something working before Thursday, PS Thank you may not mean much, But one day i'll make it up to you
PLEASE do NOT do this! 13 feet of RG174 will cut your signal by a factor of 6! If you must use 13 feet of cable, use LMR300 or some low loss cable like that.
I was hoping you could answer a question regarding antenna wire, I plan to use the RG-174 Will using 13 feet for a 2.4 antenna on lightbridge system, What i have set in mind, correct me if i am wrong but RG-174 is second to best from RG-316? same size wire just has a bit more loss right? thanks Alex
